Creative Zen Vision M - Review

The Zen Vision M is one of the best MP3/media players Creative has released. Apple has around 60 percent of the hard-drive based market. With Zen Vision M, Creative might get an increase in their market share. Zen Vision M is better than the iPod video in some areas.

The Vision M comes I five colors: pink, green, blue, white and black. It gets scratches easy but it is not extreme. Zen has a shape that resembles the iPod, it is the same height but thicker. It is like an IPod but made by Creative. This design is not as elegant but Zen Vision M fells quite comfortable.

One of the great things about the Vision M is the interface. It is easy to navigate, you can customize the menus and it looks nice too. The controls are sensitive, takes a little time getting used to.

The Zen Vision can hold a lot of data (30GB) and it is quite cool to carry around movies, music and pictures in a single device. It is easy to upload video, images and audio using the USB Cable. You do not want to watch a feature length movie on the Vision M but you can get an A/V-out cable and connect Vision M to your TV. The Vision M supports MPEG 2, DivX, WMV and some others formats. It plays moves smooth and has superb colors.

Pros: Lots of features, supports lots of formats, excellent sound quality, better video features compared to iPod, ease of use, FM radio

Cons: Scratches pretty easy

Bottom line: The Vision M could use more accessories but it is a very powerful product. It can play pretty much anything and the sound quality is great. Excellent video quality and it is DRM-friendly. Great product overall.
