IRiver Clix 4GB - Review
03/14 2007 | iRiver MP3 PlayersThe Clix is an updated version of the iRiver U10. It has a faster processor, more memory and the interface is easier to use. The 4GB Clix comes priced inline with other high capacity flash players on the market.
The iRiver Clix is a great looking MP3 player. The player feels solid and the display is made of scratch-resistant plastic. It looks like a cool miniature TV design.
Manufacturer: iRiver
Player type: Flash MP3 player
Audio formats: MP3, WMA, OGG
Battery life: 18 hours
You navigate by clicking the edges of the screen. The screen is clear and produces colors accurately. The converted video clips plays at 15 frames per second and looks smoth. We recommed "iriverter" to convert video files.
The interface takes at little time to get used to but after a while it becomes easy to navigate and it looks great too. The screen does attract a lot of fingerprints but they can easily be wiped off.
Clix transfer files using a USB cable and comes with a decent set of headphones. The heart of the device is the audio player. It plays MP3, WMA and OGG files and sounds superb. IRiver Clix has a bunch of pre-programmed EQ setting that works very well. It lets you adjust the sound anyway you want it.
The iRiver Clix got an FM radio and a voice recorder. You can also view JPEG slide shows while listening to music
Pros: compact size, fantastic sound quality, support MPEG-4 video, excellent interface, recording features, custom EQ, good FM radio reception, album art and wallpaper feature, MP3 FM recording.
Cons: no video-out option, the earbuds are average, must recharge using USB. You must buy the cradle dock seperat to use line-in recording
Bottom line: Clix works wonderfully with windows media player 11. It has an amazing sound quality and a very user friendly interface. The screen is crystal clear and high resolution. Overall a superbly designed media / Mp3 player.
